Hatching Chickens and Flamingos

So this morning we had a very "interesting" time. Destiny Lee was having a rough morning so we decided to try and distract her. Phil came up with a great idea and asked Lee Lee if she wanted to hatch a chicken? Phil got a chicken "seed" (actually a bay leaf) from the cabinet, put it in an egg, and Destiny Lee sat on the egg to keep it warm. She sat there probably about ten minutes, and then wanted to know if she could check the egg. Phil took over the egg watching while Lee Lee went to go get changed. While she was gone Phil put a beanie baby chicken in the egg. When Lee Lee came back he handed her back the egg all wrapped up and she then waited another 5 min. I told her I think the chicken hatched, so she checked and was very surprised at what she found. After she was done she wanted to hatch another egg, so we decided to hatch a flamingo and followed the same routine as above and she was again excited to hatch a flamingo. The things that kids will do!!!
